Trainers

All of our trainers have extended education and are NASM certified, which means they’ve been trained in anatomy, physiology, psychology, and nutrition. They understand that no two bodies are alike and will work with you to get fit and healthy at the right pace.

Ashley, M.A., NASM-CNC

I am a Grit Trainer and Certified Nutrition Coach. Since a young age I have found myself fascinated by the inner workings of the brain and more recently I’ve been forced (by my body) to understand how nutrition affects health.

After going through a prolonged period of sickness in my mid 20’s that left me 50+ lbs. overweight, I decided to take back control of my life. I started the journey toward completing my first half-marathon shortly before turning 30.

Afterward, I couldn’t stop wondering, what made me successful in my life change when others were not? So I went back to grad school to learn all I could about the science of success and performance.

While obtaining a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology, I had the opportunity to study with leading high-performance psychologist Cindra Kamphoff.

I have been coaching people in the science and mindset of success ever since. I’m truly passionate about coaching love helping people reach their full potential.

When I’m not coaching, creating, or connecting, you can find me hanging out in my garden oasis, hiking, or just spending time with my family.

Matt, M.S., NASM-CPT, NASM-GPT

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Trainer. I am a super passionate and truly enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals. I believe that everybody deserves the chance to live a healthy lifestyle and not feel trapped or ashamed by their body because it is not as fit, strong, or mobile as they would like. People should not feel discouraged just because they have not succeeded at their fitness goals in the past due to lack of support, accountability, knowledge, or mental toughness. I am very excited to help you reach your fitness goals by offering the expertise and support you need to get there.

I have a wide range of fitness experience, both personally, from my time in the military and as a runner with a few half-marathons under my belt, and professionally, as a personal trainer. I have worked with people just returning to fitness, people looking to reduce their body fat, people looking to increase their mobility, medium-long distance runners, and military personnel needing to pass fitness tests. Additionally, I have taught fitness related classes for a 4 year university and a k-8th grade school program and I spent a few years as a rock climbing instructor.

Like many people, as a young adult I did not have to think much about my fitness. Out of high school I joined the Army and staying fit was just part of the job. I was never a super athlete but I was able to regularly pass my military fitness tests. However, when I got to my 30s and started graduate school at the same time that my son was born, my fitness routine basically ended. Now, I'm not the oldest dad ever, but being in my 30s while trying to keep up with a toddler really showed me how much I had let my fitness lapse the previous few years.

Getting back into fitness was hard...is hard...is damn hard! Fitness is dedication to putting in the work. Personally, I am motivated by the desire to keep playing, camping, and experiencing the world with my kid. Few things would be worse to me than having to tell my son “not today” because I’m too tired, too weak, or too out of shape. But whatever it is that motivates you, I want to help you get there!

Outside of work and family, I am a huge comic book fan! My hope is that together we can create a community of superheroes!
